The Role of Real Estate Professionals

While reading a recent survey by the National Association of Realtors, I found the following statistics interesting:

•Most home sellers — most of whom had worked with a real estate agent before —understood the value a real estate agent brings to the transaction, the survey reported. They noted this is especially true in a still-stabilizing housing market.

• Nearly 9 out of 10 home sellers sold their home with the assistance of a real estate agent.

I was happy to see this trend over the years. In comparison, the NAR noted, in 2001 only 79% of sellers sold their home using an agent. By 2009 that had increased to 85%, and in 2010 to 88%.  It is true:  When it’s time to sell, it’s good to have someone working on your behalf!
